Many people search for “US Department of Labor scholarships.” The Department of Labor (DOL) does not run a general scholarship programme of its own. Instead, it sponsors CareerOneStop, a free website whose Scholarship Finder lists thousands of scholarships, fellowships, grants and other awards from many organisations.
How to Use the Scholarship Finder
- Go to CareerOneStop’s Scholarship Finder.
- Filter by level of study (for example, high school, bachelor’s or graduate).
- Filter by affiliation, such as veteran, disability, minority group or union membership.
- Filter by location or field of study.
- Open each listing and confirm details on the sponsor’s official website.
Other DOL-Related Education and Training Funding
- Registered Apprenticeships: earn while you learn, often with employer-paid training.
- Workforce training funds: local American Job Centers may help eligible adults and dislocated workers pay for training.
- Job Corps: a free education and career training programme for eligible young people.
Federal programmes can change, so check current availability on official .gov websites.
Don’t Forget Federal Student Aid
Federal grants such as the Pell Grant come from the US Department of Education, not the DOL. Apply by completing the FAFSA.
